We are back in action this week with a variety of innovative and creative projects going on. The grade 6's did an empathy challenge and went through the design thinking process to develop an item for a partner that could cheer them up when they need a boost! The grade 2's enjoyed a weaving craft station and exploring centre time after brainstorming a list of new ideas for us to do in The Space. The grade 3's continued to work on their Genius Hour projects and connected with groups today to see what each others projects were about. There are so many creative and unique ideas happening! Thanks Good Day to you and everyone reading this blog. My name is William from the space and I am your guest blogger. Today I am going to be interviewing some of the Space Pros girls. Allegra, Baye and Kieran talking about why the space is an awesome place. Baye: Because there is lots of things to do and its all very fun. Kieran: Well you can use your imagination and there are no limits, no one can tell you what to do. Now to our friends Claire and Eli about theExtreme Rollercoaster. Claire: It is very fun and works your brain very hard Also its very tall. Eli: You can do everything you want to do and have fun even though your not riding it.
That’s all for today from the Space!! -William It was a busy week in The Space. We were working on so many exciting projects! Get ready for the Mindful Museum that will be on display in the maker space when it's done to help others calm down when they need a mindful moment. Grade 2's are working hard on creating objects that would make someone feel happy! We brainstormed about things that make us feel sad or upset. We've been reading some wonderful books about mindfulness and feelings. Check out the Colour Monster and also I am Peace....
Genius Hour projects continue to be unique and creative! Grade 5's made short films last week using a LEGO app on the iPads that were Oscar worthy. Thanks so much for all the donations to The Space recently. If you happen to have any bubble wrap, please send it our way. Today is National Bubble Wrap Day! Kind Club had a really informative presentation today from the Calgary Humane Society and we presented them with a cheque for $300! Kind Club raised that money through our Popcorn for Paws fundraiser and we were so excited to learn about where that money will go.
Way to go Kind Club! You are truly one of a kind :) |
